Danielle Anikey is currently a student at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). Her poem, “Tomorrow is Now,” is in response to the following quotation from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s book, Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community:

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now.”

– Pg. 191

Ms. Anikey has also provided an audio recording of her reading her poem:

Tomorrow is Now

Where does the time go

I would really like to know

Where does the time go

It’s already in the past.

Time is the master.

The master of the ‘now’.

The who, the what and also the how.

Time is not a thief

But pays with wisdom

Tomorrow reveals,

confirms and concludes yesterday’s wonders.

It spares no rod as it brings correction.

It is a sentimental journey of the tune of your life.

Tomorrow is today so write your notes well.
