The Cleveland Humanities Collaborative (CHC) is accepting letters of interest for its third themed seminar focused on the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards canon. This year’s seminar, titled “Reconstructing Race: Remembering, Redressing, & Redeeming American Democracy,” will run from Aug. 10 to Aug. 14, and will center on The Second Founding by Eric Foner.

If possible, the seminar will be held on the campus of Case Western Reserve University; if meeting on campus is not possible, the seminar will be held via Zoom. The seminar is sponsored jointly by the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative, the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards, Writers House at CWRU and Cuyahoga Community College.

Seminar participants who attend and participate in each of the daily meetings (approximately four to five hours, time to be determined) will be eligible for a participation award. Books and supplemental readings will be distributed in advance.

Eligibility:

• Faculty, staff and PhD students from a northeastern Ohio university
• Full-time faculty, artists and administrators from regional educational, arts, and cultural institutions

To apply, submit a CV and a statement of interest (maximum 1,000 words) to Allison Morgan, CHC program manager at amm203@case.edu by Monday, June 1. Space is limited to 20 participants. Applications will be reviewed by a committee and participants will be notified by Monday, June 15.
