CHC Summer Collaboratory

CHC Summer Collaboratory: May 22 – June 23, 2023

Applications for the 2023 CHC Summer Collaboratory are now closed

A research opportunity that pays you to live and learn on CWRU’s campus!

The Cleveland Humanities Collaborative is hosting a residential research program for community college students.

The Summer Collaboratory provides all participants with housing and a stipend, and will run from May 22 – June 23, 2023.

Led by a group of CWRU faculty and graduate students, your research projects will be designed so that everyone can live and learn together, with a 1:4 faculty-to-student ratio.

The Collaboratory is a great way to experience the humanities at a research university! It provides all of the resources you need to live and learn on CWRU’s campus for five weeks, including a personal stipend of $4,000, free campus housing, free parking, most food / meals, and all of the necessary books and supplies.

Applicants should be interested in Humanities research (Art History, Languages, Literature, Philosophy, Africana Studies, Classics, Music, Theater, History, Latinx Studies, Gender Studies, or Religion.)

Students from all regional community colleges are eligible to apply (including from Tri-C, Lakeland CC, and Lorain CCC), as well as current CHC Students. Each person selected for the Collaboratory is expected to be available for the duration of the five- weeks and must complete the program to receive their stipend. This research Collaboratory is made possible by a generous grant from the Mellon Foundation.
